Simple but yummy, if you want something soupy for a fish. Good to sip on a cold day. This recipe is well known to most Manilenyo, because other island in the Philippines has their own style of fish stew ( tinolang isda in Mindanao, Nilagpang in Visayas) God willing I will post those soon. For the mean time here is the pesang isda recipe.

    3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons fish sauce ( patis)
    1/2 teaspoon whole black pepper
    salt to taste
3 cayenne chilli pepper ( siling haba)

    Procedure:
    1. Saute ginger, garlic and onion
    2. Put the fish sauce( patis) and fish and black pepper, simmer for 2 minutes.
    3. Add the rice washing and let it boil. Put salt to taste.
    4. When the fish is already cooked. Put the Chinese cabbage and chili,  simmer for 2 minutes.
    5. Serve it hot and with rice.
