Yema Balls

I loved this dessert when I was younger but, I still love it until now. I make this popular dessert in the Philippines in a very simple and economical way. I omitted egg and sugar. Instead of rolling it over the sugar I used the toasted flour. So here is my way of making yema balls, have fun!

Ingredients:
1 big can condensed milk (395 grams)
1/4 cup flour ( toasted and set aside)

Procedure:
1. In a pan put the condensed milk, over medium heat, and bring it to boil.

2. Stirring constantly until the milk becomes mushy  like the picture below. If this is already the texture of the milk, turn off the heat, then transfer in a container and allow to cool.
3. Form into balls and roll over the toasted flour. ( Sorry I tasted the other half of it:D really yummy!)

4. Serve it  in your own style. To make it stay longer you can wrap it in water cellophane or keep it in a jar.

  2. Hello Ruth, im sorry it's only now I've read your comment :(
for 1 can condensed milk you can add 2 egg yolks, you can mix it together before cooking.

  3. "roll ever"?... or over?... the thing with almost all of your recipe is that your English grammar is wrong and even the spelling of words. Why don't you get a proof reader or someone who knows professional English before you put your recipes online. Embarrassing isn't it?

    1. a smart person knows what I mean, sometimes there are really typographical errors because even if I am very sleepy I always try to post something new for my followers, for the grammar, I knew i have mistakes but I am not American, at least people can understand what I mean. I am not embarrassed. I am happy if people will correct me. Do you know who is embarrassing?? YOU! look at your grammar it is also wrong lol you should put S to the word recipe. I am happy that you said most of ALL my recipes, so you like my blog that's why you keep on coming, thanks a lot and God bless, I hope you already learn how to cook because this is my blog all about, about cooking and not about grammar.

    1. I have that problem too at my old work. talking about my english. All I can say is english is my second language and I told him that at list I know how to spell it, if I can't pronounce it right.:)D then go figure! Maybe that person doesn't have any thing to do to his life. But we are. We love and enjoy what we do. We are only human and we are allowed to make mistakes.

  40. Natawa naman ako sa grammar critic na may grammatical error. Wag mong pansinin yan Ate Mely. Sometimes how we see other people is actually how we see ourselves.

I've come across your blogsite some years back but only had time to try them recently when I decided to become a full-time mom. I'm in my mid 30s but I'm only starting to learn how to cook. Thanks to your recipes I don't have to go to culinary school to serve food that my kids will enjoy.
