Sotanghon Guisado



Sotanghon guisado is one of the easiest sotanghon recipe that you can try. You can use different ingredients for this and be creative as you can. I just make the simple and I used the ingredients available during the time when I am cooked this.Try this complete meal for the whole family.
Ingredients:
1/4 kilo cellophane noodles ( sotanghon)
1/4 kilo shrimps ( deshelled)
1/4 kilo cabbage ( sliced into strips)
1 carrot ( sliced into strips)
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
10 hard boiled quails egg
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup broccoli
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups water or as needed ( it depends upon the sotanghon)

Procedure:
1. Soak the sotanghon in a water until soft enough to cut.  Drain and set aside.
2. In a pan or wok saute the garlic and onion, add the shrimps and simmer for a minute,  add the soy sauce simmer for a minute.
3. Add the water and bring to a boil, then add  pepper and salt to taste.
4. Put the broccoli, carrot and sotanghon then  mix well , add the cabbage while stirring so that it wont stick at the bottom.
5. Simmer for a minute then continue stirring until it is cook,  add the quails egg.
6 Serve hot.

To add color you can use 1 tablespoon  atsuete powder

  1. I cant fine the right brand of noodles that has that right consistency of the real sotanghon elastic and glassy look,pls advice.

    1. It's really hard to find :(
      Im using the LONGKOU brand in green writing, because it's better than the one in blue writing.
