Pork Siomai




Siomai is one of my favorite dumplings, therefore it is a must that I should learn to make it :) Actually it is easy and simple to do, so why don't you try it? Do not be afraid to try cooking new recipes that is one way to learn in cooking. Enjoy cooking my friends.

Ingredients:
250 grams ground pork
30 siomai wrapper
1 onion ( minced)
5 cloves garlic ( minced)
1 carrot ( minced)
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
salt to taste


Procedure:
1. Set aside the wrapper then mix all the ingredients very well.
2. Spoon a small amount then wrap with the siomai wrapper
3. After wrapping, put in the steamer and steam for 30 minutes or until done.

4. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

    1. You can buy it in the markets if you are in the Philippines, if you are in other country you can buy it at Asian stores, look for wanton wrapper it's the same.

    2. You can use egg roll wrapper but the Wenchun Brand if you are in US. You have to cut it though. Good luck!!!

    3. Soimai wrappers making method .maida which means all purpose flor, 2cups of flor ,taste to salt and water make a dow ,keep it for half an hour then make it small small ball and spread it like wrapper by using chapathi maker .

  6. hi love all your recipes, can you please tell me what is ( exactly) the dipping sauce used for eating them, thank a lot and happy new years!

    1. Hi it just goes well with 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon of lemon or calamansi juice then put fried minced garlic and chili. :-). You can add a little sugar to neutralize the flavor.
