    How To Make Kutsinta Perfectly

    I used medium size molder for this recipe and I was able to made around 30 pieces of delicious Kutsinta.  I used food coloring instead of annatto because it's not available. I made this as simple as it can be so that every body can try making kutsinta in a very easy way. I hope you will try this and let me know.

    Ingredients for 2 dozens:
    1  1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1/2  cup  sugar
    1/2 teaspoon orange food coloring
    1 1/2 cups water
    1 teaspoon lye water


    Procedure:
    1. Sift all the dry ingredients then combine everything until fully mixed. Pour into molders about 3/4 full and steam for 15 minutes or until done.


    2. Remove from steamer then allow few minutes to cool before removing from the molders then serve with or without grated coconut.

Ang lye water or lihiya sa salitang tagalog ay isang liquid na cooking substance na ginagamit pampatigas sa kutsinta, suman sa lihiya , etc. Parang tubig lang ang itsura nito at mabibili sa mga super markets at sa mga tindahan sa palengke na nagtitinda ng mga gamit pangluto lalo na ng mga kakanin.

    4. Sis Mely, pwede po ba raw brown sugar substitute sa reg sugar? Pareho din po ba yung meqsyrement nya?

    6. hello po!!!nasa abroad po ako at hindi po available dito ang lye water. meron po ba kaung recipe ng kutsinta na walang lye water na gamit?please po sana magreply kayo agad gusto q po kase itry ihanda yun this christmas.thank you po and merry christmas!!!

    8. Good day po.sinunod ko po exact measurement pero bakit po matigas ang kinalabasan ng kutsinta na niluto ko po.ano po kaya ang problema kapag ganon.hope to hear from you po.thanx

    9. Lye as in sodium hydroxide, really? It is a strong alkali and a caustic ingredient in laundry detergent or a cleaning agent. When ingested it basically burns you from the inside. I know there are food grade lyes but I don't want the idea of such industrial chemical on my food.

    10. bakit po hindi ako makabuo ng kutsinta,ano kayang mali? 1cup rice flour 4tbsp.all purpose flour 1cup sugar lye at atsuete, ganun din procedure ginawa ko,pero lubog ang gitna :(
